Seven large culverts were recently replaced at various federal aid eligible locations in Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Sullivan Counties.

Due to a recent storm, seven aging culverts at various locations in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Sullivan Counties will be replaced using various size Box Culverts along with the associated wingwalls. The new culverts with the attached wingwall will direct water and provide sufficient drainage during major storms.
The Delaware county locations required two culverts on Rt 28 approximately 2 miles apart from each other. Site E on Route 28 is an important Federal Aid roadway that is required to be accessible to vehicular traffic and emergency vehicles during severe storms. The newly installed culvert and wingwalls will now properly control the flow of water reducing the risk of water flooding the roadway that would otherwise prevent safe travel.
